Yes! Of course no one wants to think about anything getting in the way of their trip, but unfortunately things can, and do, go wrong! If anything does happen, travel insurance covers you and your belongings, so you can enjoy your holiday and rest easy knowing you are covered. Without travel insurance, you will be responsible for covering any costs incurred from lost or stolen items, as well as any medical bills – which can definitely stack up when you are overseas!
Vaccinations vary from destination to destination and depend on your medical history. We recommend referring to your GP or to your local Travel Medicine Alliance practice. TMA Hobart can be contacted on 6223 7577 or visit the website at www.travelmedicine.com.au You can also keep up to date with all the latest health warnings at www.travelvax.com.au
While there is no longer a universal rule; we recommend that your passport has no less than six months validity from the return date of your trip. And remember, that is six months from the date of return! For further information please visit the Australian Passport Office.
First things first – if you have a smart phone, make sure your data is turned off! Most of the horror stories you hear of people racking up thousands of dollars of bills while overseas can usually be tracked back to data usage.
Visa requirements vary between countries and can change without warning. If you are an Australian passport holder, you can check the Australian Governments DFAT page for information about some countries visa requirements
